Steve got home on Friday night, it was late and the but I had put the girls out in their yard so they could greet him as he had called to say he would be home in 20 minutes and I knew they would be ecstatic to see him. The coyotes had not come back to my house but had moved down the road to my neighbors, taking easy picking killing their free ranging chickens.
I was watching TV when the girl alerted to Steve's arrival. I already knew he was home as he had called to tell me he was stopping at th…

Weeks have passed since the storm rumbled through and Ginger entered our lives soaked to the skin, wounded, and bleeding. The vet did the blood work making sure the kitten did not have feline leukemia or aids so it could stay with us and not put our other elderly kitties in jeopardy. Ginger snuggled in quite nicely in the cat carrier in my mediation room. We put a baby gat on the door so the other cats could jump in if they wanted to visit but the kitten could not get out, thus keeping it somewh…

Three days ago, Mali and I were stopped in traffic. I had all the windows rolled down as it was not very hot out and there was a nice breeze. Mali was enjoying flirting with the people in the car next to us when she heard the sirens of a fire truck. The expression on her face was pri…

I know I am dating myself when I mention the Brady bunch but heck I am old and I do not care who knows it. When people ask me to describe the fun personalities of my girls I tell them we live with the Brady girls Marsha, Jan and Cindy aka Mali, Rani and Yuki.
Mali is very much like Marsha. First of all she is the eldest. Mali is very confident and well liked by everyone who meets her. She always carries herself with her head held high, walks with, and air of dominance. She is control of herse…

Yuki came to us as a surprise. We went to a show with Mali and our new puppy Rani here in NC. When we left that morning I told Steve, my husband I heard Mali tell Rani, every time we pack the car like this we are getting another puppy. I laughed and told her, "No we are not getting another puppy!" I was so hap…

I had been thinking about training Rani to be an alternate for Mali as a mobility service dog, so since she was a young pup I had take extra time to socialize her more than most people would socialize their dog. She is not afraid of loud noises or strange sounds, large trucks, motorcycles whizzing close by, l…

It was after a terrible thunderstorm ended we heard the sounds of a distressed cry. It was nearly midnight and Steve and I had not yet gone to bed as we were enjoying the cool calm the storm had brought when it left. The sounds was nearly lost in the sounds of the frogs melody down by the creek but it was there, h…

.Every night Steve and I take Mali to the green way. The green way is a 17-mile walking park. In between the trails, we walk and the return course there is a large field and today there were tractors racking and bailing hay. Mali loves going to go to the green way. She has many friends there, who often walk with us in a pack as we travel our three-mile route. One day when Mali was 7 months old, no one from the pack was on the Green Way with us, it was just Mali, Steve, and I in my wheel chair; a…

I had wanted to have another dog for many years. I wanted a dog which would be loyal, easy to train, intelligent, a watch dog not a guard dog, impressive in mind and body. One day I stumbled across a picture of a Shiloh Shepherd. I could not stop looking at the picture. It featured a group of shepherds who we…

Hello Families of Animals,
With great concern I am writing in regards to the folks that have contacted me regarding feline leukemia and AIDS. My blog was simply for the sharing of information and how pets are responding to the LTCI drug. I am not a veterinarian nor am I formally trained in animal care...I just wanted a post to share information. The internet can be a great tool or a dangerous one depending on how it is used. With anything, even dietary changes you should consult your vet first.…
